88.89% of my clients over the last year had burnout show up on their HTMA testing
If you’ve been part of this community for a while you may have noticed over the last 4-5 months, I’ve shifted to talking a lot more about burnout specifically, and less about hormonal imbalances in general.
Why? Two reasons:
#1 Because I was noticing a trend in my clients……nearly every one of them had burnout. 88.89% of them to be exact.
#2 When I polled this entire community, the #1 thing you said you’re struggling with is feeling like you don’t have enough energy.
Why does this matter?
Low energy, inconsistent energy, or consistently feeling run down and tired is one of the biggest signs of burnout.
In order to address hormonal imbalances, we need to start with burnout because burnout starts the snowball effect of other hormone related symptoms.

What’s the burnout snowball effect?
Amanda works at a job where her days can get pretty stressful.
Amanda gets pregnant. (stress on the body, depletes minerals)
Amanda breastfeeds her baby for 6 months. (stress on the body, depletes minerals)
Baby doesn’t sleep through the night until 1yr old, which means Amanda doesn’t either. (stress on the body)
Motherhood, need I say more? (stress)
Amanda is feeling tired and run down even though she’s now consistently sleeping through the night. Amanda often feels on edge & easily snaps, even over small things. Amanda wants to start being more active so she can lose the remaining baby weight she hasn’t been able to shake yet, but she just can’t find the motivation.
Stress causes cortisol levels to be elevated. Over time these stressors add up and we’re left with dysregulated cortisol which makes digestion and rest difficult. Elevated cortisol causes inflammation. Inflammation is an additional stressor on the body. Stress depletes minerals. We need magnesium for over 300 processes within the body. Sodium helps us produce stomach acid which helps us digest our food. Potassium helps thyroid hormone get inside our cells where it needs to be to do its job. Potassium & Magnesium both help insulin function properly.
I could go on, but I think you can see how one thing leads to another & leads to another.
Soon Amanda had a slow metabolism, decreased thyroid function, poor digestion, dysregulated blood sugar, and adrenal fatigue. All of which contributes to imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, & testosterone leading to symptoms like PMS, heavy bleeding, low libido, anxiety, depression, & acne.
Amanda came to me with a desire to feel better & get some answers. A few of the things I included in her plan were:
-eating breakfast before having coffee
-adding 1-2 mineral drinks a day
-supplements based specifically on her mineral testing results
-making sure she wasn’t unintentionally under eating
-journaling as a stress management practice
After a few weeks Amanda was noticing an increase in her energy, she was waking up feeling more rested than before, she was having less mood swings, & when her next period came her PMS symptoms weren’t as intense.
