I’m a planner, always have been, likely always will be. That means that in the weeks leading up to our week long vacation 9hrs from home, I did a lot of researching, thinking, and planning to try to make this trip as enjoyable and smooth sailing as possible. We have never flown with our kids before and given that our destination was only 9 hours away (I know, only right?) we decided that having our vehicle for the week was more…

    Newborn Must Haves

A couple weeks ago I was shopping for a friend’s baby shower. I’m the type of person that loves to give a practical gift…..I’m not the friend that buys your kiddos a toy (because I know they already have a roomful of them that they don’t play with), I’m much more likely to get them outfits for the upcoming season because I know it’s something that’s actually needed and will get used. So when I shop for baby gifts now that I’m a parent, I think back to my must haves for those first few months: Portable night lightThis light got used on a daily basis, multiple times of day,…

After a few weeks of inconsistent sleep, I was desperate for help & advice on how to help my baby sleep because I needed to sleep! This led to a lot of middle-of-the-night amazon purchases for anything that I thought might help her, as well as scouring Pinterest for hours at a time for any tip we could try. In hindsight, I found the following things to be most impactful: 1.       Consistent wake up time When I went back to work, Kenley started going to a private sitter each day. Since my husband & I both leave the house at 6am each morning, this means she consistently is woken up at…
